Well the Internet started in 1989, and you joined Accy Web in 2004, Less. Talk us through those 15 years. Must have been an exciting, pioneering time?
I got my first computer from PC World at Whitebirk in about 1994, and I think you had to warm the valves up to get it started.
Were there really internet chatrooms during that time, where people learned to live with it, or whine?
I can't wait to hear!

We can all look up wiki, can you tell me what you know about my history with the www?
Don't come the superior, I was involved with computers in the 60's, only as a low tech' minion, but then, that would only add to your superior feeling.
Many folk just get on with it.
By the way, due to a minor glitch not worth repairing all that joined accyweb before 2004 ended up as members from then on.
Contribute or shut up.

Hyndburn Leisure van illegally drove through the no vehicles sign and parked outside the town hall again while I was down town the other day

Re: town hall illegal parking
The signs state "No vehicles except Buses". Surely this also applies to Council Vehicles and delivery vehicles as well as private drivers? Perhaps they should reconsider the wording of the signs or at least install a camera, as you never see a policeman in the area, and fine everyone contravening the signs.

Re: town hall illegal parking
The council may have permission to drive through the area and park there. Its them that approve the permission so its them that can get it easiest.

Isn't traffic management controlled by LCC rather than the whims of the local Council?

The sign is clear so I don't see how they can - that includes the Mayors car. There is a parking spot round the corner outside the council building entrance at the end of Broadway that is reserved for Town Hall deliveries. You can see it in this google maps image if this works https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.75...eMfg!2e0?hl=en

Re: town hall illegal parking
to park there you have to have a permit .. and if you don't you get fined ... oh and you are only supposed to park there for 20 mins

Have you contacted the Town Hall to ask them why they didn't do something about it at the time? Have you contacted the Police? Or are you just expecting something to happen because you had a moan on the internet?

Re: town hall illegal parking
To park where? I know you can park at the side of the market hall with a permit from a stall holder but outside the town hall you can't even drive to it so you can park. Unless of course those signs were put up without a traffic order making them enforceable
