Town Map 1950s
I get so much pleasure reading all the various threads that interest me, but having effectively left Accrington in 1961 I really struggle to remember where the various streets actually were.
Is there anywhere that I can download a street map covering the '50s?
I have got some of the older ones from here but would appreciate it greatly if anyone can point me in the right direction.

Similar situation here ,been away from the area for a while but found the best way to find 'forgotton' places and streets mentioned in various threads is Google earth , only problem with Google Earth though is that you start looking for one place and then notice something else and end up miles from where you started ...and before you know it a hour has passed

Re: Town Map 1950s
Don't go into the index Barrie re. the reference Margaret has given you ... only gives the area of the map. Hit the red Mario word in the main text ..this will lead you into historic maps including the 1950's map which you can zoom in and get the streets names plus there is a search in the toolbar to put the name of the street you require .. which comes up brilliantly.
Haha Steeljack .. been there, got the T-shirt ..

Can be Steeljack, particularly when it is creating the data ... is tonight .. have to be patient ... but once it has done this, then doesn't seem to be any problems after that.
