Re: Traffic Lights for Town Hall
In any case they are going to have to go down King Street and under the arches when the new bus station is built. So I don't see why they cannot bite the bullet and close Blackburn Road completely.
On another tack, if Accrington is already liberally supplied with free carparks, why does every road into the town centre have to be lined with parked cars?

There you go A-B I couldn't have thought of such a far reaching plan, You are absolutely correct, if they close Blackburn Rd from the Intack traffic lights all the people wanting to go to Burnley would be forced to use the M65 or Divert through Great Harwood thus easing the traffic all the way through Accrington.

The best solutions are often the simplest ones.

Thought the taxis already used the bus lanes

Re: Traffic Lights for Town Hall
Oh you mean the car park next to the new health centre they plan for the top of Church Street? I'd associated that with the proposed health centre. I found the description of the planned access a bit confusing.

I thought the article described the new access very well

Re: Traffic Lights for Town Hall
The article may have described the access perfectly. I just didn't follow where this new mini roundabout is going to be and whether or not the one already at the end of Paradise Street (the junction with Church Street) is still going to be there. If so that would be two mini roundabouts in very close proximity but not without precedent. Perhaps it will be clearer to me when I eventually see it.
