Agree on that, but what im saying is why should I pay??

Why dont they let ya have the pass free, like the over 60's pass?

Re: Transdev

Our two girls went to preston on the train the other day. I went to the ticket office to check they didn't need any railcards or passes to get half fares. His reply was "Why ? they don't look anywhere near 16. When they get to 15 and might look 16 think about getting some id but otherwise we use common sense"

Says it all really

Same reason you have to pay for passports, etc, I don't agree with it either but tbh £2 isn't exactly breaking the bank is it? And getting your child hoofed off the bus and left standing there without any means to get home isn't really worth thinking about is it.......

Re: Transdev

just walked Reece to the bus stop and i asked the driver how much the blue weekly passes had gone up to for kids...they used to be £6.75 and now they are £8.70, i bought Reece's last week before they went up, looks like i have an extra £1.95 to fork out this week then

it is cheaper for me to pay for returns for Reece for school but he goes to town and the library at weekends, i'm just wondering if its going to be worth paying for him to go into town rather than getting him a pass from now on

I worked New Years eve and got nothing extra for it. I work all days and all times and am paid the same each month regardless of shifts or hours worked.

For our little girl from clayton to ossy and back monday to friday costs us £3:50. That will do nicely.

nowt to do with it really but the bus drivers that do the school runs dont have any work in the holidays so dont get paid...... probably why they are so grumpy all the time lol

Re: Transdev

I e-mailed Transdev to ask if it was true that the child fare was going up to 3/4 of the adult price, the answer I got was that the weekly & daily passes that have gone up in price so that they only now give a 40% reduction on the adult price instead of 50% to compensate for the passes being used at the busiest times. So people who buy a weekly pass for their kids to go to school and therefore make it easier for the drivers rather than having to mess about with giving change etc., are now being penalised for it - crackers!

just like the fares on the buses, once over it was different prices at different bus stops, now its same price to accy if you get on at blackdog or palladium!!

Because showing the pass is a requirement for getting the reduced rate between the ages of 11 and 16

Here are the rules for the reduced rate

Quote:
Young People Aged 11 to 16
Young people aged between 11 and 16 may travel at the reduced rate upon production of a valid Young Person's Saver Card.

Young people aged 11 and above who do not have a Young Person's Saver Card (or similar proof of age) will be required to pay the FULL ADULT FARE.

Young people who do not live in Lancashire may use any other bus company or local authority proof of age card to obtain reduced rate travel on our services.

Re: Transdev

We need passes or ID for all sorts of things. EG If you go to the sports centre and you are entitled to a reduced rate, you get the pass to to prove it and save your self money. who wants to not get a pass to get a reduction they are entitled to and thus save money, even if it is less of a saving than previously?

Then there is the ID you need to prove you are old enough to do certain things. My sons who were too tall to pass for school age, now need ID to prove they are old enough to buy alcohol at 19, ID which has to be paid for, and costs more than 2 quid. Or do you suggest we do away with those as well and allow shop keepers to sell it to them because he "thought" they were 18? Would you like your daughter to get a tattoo without your permission coz she didn't need ID? these things cut both ways, and lets face it, they are a fact of life!
