Re: trench/sculpture on the hill
You've got to admit Ifty that some of the roads into town don't exactly create a good first impression. It's true that a lot of redevelopment is planned and not before time. A lot more could be done and there are a lot of old buildings standing empty and idle although this isn't always the case and many have been put to new uses (such as the Globe centre which you mentioned and the GEC business park). I'd love to see the approaches to Accy looking more inviting. I don't particularly like the bottom end of Willows Lane either where it goes under the railway line but on the other hand Hyndburn Road is a lot nicer than it used to be. One of the biggest improvements I think would be for all the litter to be cleared away but it seems there is more talk than action where that is concerned because every time we've had local council elections it seems that the candidates promise to do something about the problem buit it's still as bad as ever. There must surely be rats. This is the 21st century and we are living like the middle ages in places.
