TV License - where do you buy yours
I know this sounds a really silly question but where do you buy your TV License from?
My mum was informed at the post office the other day that she can no longer pay it there, it now has to be paid at a paypoint, but where in Accrington are these? She is worrying as hers runs out at the end of the month and dosen't want to be without one.
I find it strange that there has been no information broadcast on tv regarding this. We have always paid ours by direct debit so it dosen't affect us.

Re: TV License - where do you buu yours
You can use Paypoint at the newsagents on Broadway or at Spar on Burnley Rd .There are no doubt loads more of 'em but those are the 2 I know of. I pay mine by dd ;it's easier !

I'm the same - have paid it on direct debit for as long as I can remember. I wouldn't know where to start about buying one from anywhere else.

Re: TV License - where do you buy yours
We're on monthly direct debit too since the post office stopped doing them.I think the newsagent at the end of Charter Street, opposite Wolstenholme Funeral Service,is a paypoint you can pay tv licenses at.

Re: TV License - where do you buy yours
It is a pain, not being able to pay at the Post Office anymore.
I renewed mine last week over the phone, with a debit card, and it was quite straight forward...and you speak to a real person.

I think so. I believe the TV Licencing call centre is in India Mill, on Bolton Road in Darwen.
Foreigners? Darreners are a rare breed and that's for sure.

Re: TV License - where do you buy yours
Do you guys have to pay just to watch television? Or is this payment for something extra like cable or satelit? Just curious as I've never heard of this before.

Re: TV License - where do you buy yours
Okay, so you guys can't just plug in a tv with some rabbit ears and have it come on? Without our DirectV (~$30/month) we'd still have free access to our local stations (~ 7 or 8).
With the DirectV package we get seemingly hundreds of stations (mostly crap). This includes I believe both BBC America and BBC Europe. When I first signed up it seemed like alot to pay. However, the basic package does give us some entertaining stations.
Always soemthing new to learn about our differences I guess.
