Two Ferrets seen in Woodland of New Lane, Oswaldtwistle

My husband and I went walking in the woodland just off New Lane this afternoon (think it might be called Bury Meadows Woodland) and we saw 2 ferrets. We were wondering if maybe they had escaped from someones back garden, or worst of all if someone had dumped them there :@(

One of them was a browny and black colour and the other was all cream with red eyes. There seemed extremely friendly, especially the brown / black one as he was very keen on making friends with our dog! The cream one was not as friendly and seemed more shy. Both seemed to be in good condition.

If you know anyone who has lost them please could you let them know that we saw them running around the woodland there about 6pm this evening?

Many thanks
Vicky

Where is this? I have never heard of it.......Bury Meadows woodland I mean, not New Lane.

Google Maps

Off New Lane, near the disused works. The sign at the start calls it Bury Meadows Woodlands.

Is it a new name for Nook Lane which takes you up to where Cocker Chemicals was.

yes its where the chemical placed used to be. I double checked on the name on the opening sign and map and it defo says 'bury meadows woodlands'. Sadly here has also been a large amount of fly tipping there recently :@(
