'False claims led to death' - News - Accrington Observer

How sad when it is someone is falsely accused.
What I find more annoying is this poor man had complained to the police about the harrassment and was advised to move Why did the police not do the job they are supposed to do and protect an innocent man by prosecuting the people who were harrassing him? And before anybody says they didn't know who was harrassing him I for one find that very hard to believe. It seems the young girls who made these false allegations have got off scot free and to add insult to injury their families have been allowed to get away with tormenting the life out of an innocent man. What a mess this country is in!!!

Re: Undesirable relocating in Accrington???

the reason i heard was they were too young 13 yrs old, to prosecute, fer gods sake, can remember n 11 yr old lad getting approved school, 1st offence fer nicking a bottle of pop off the wagon that used to come round the streets, i knew the kid he lived across the street. NOW thanks to the frigging do-gooders 13 yrs olds can destroy someones life n thats fine cos there too young. BOLLOCKS.

They might be only 10 and 11 kate but I bet they don't feel one little bit guilty for what they've done, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if they think its a big joke, there are no values anymore, its always the offenders who are protected not the victims, its a sorry state of affairs, I think its time to get rid of the bleeding heart liberals and get back to good old fashioned values, but I'm not holding my breathe

I meant, you go to court because someone did something to you. In court it is not proven the other person did it. That does not mean you made a false claim.

You know...I'm alarmed that children of that age knew enough about 'life' to make up such lies. When I was 10 I was thankfully innocent of where babies came from. If I was the parents of the little brats I'd be ashamed that my daughters were so knowledgeable about such things...Shame on the parents for not having protected their daughters better. Even if the girls found out through older friends or tv etc it is no excuse. That's what being a parent is all about...protecting your children's mind as well as life - including monitoring thier friends and television viewing

It comes back to the parents again as in so many cases of bad, evil and thoroughly unpleasant brats....

.
That's what I was trying to say in my post GP ... where do those sort of lies come from now, having made up these accusations, they must have known would have had bad repercussions.

Wasn't making any excuses for them Jaysay because of their age, just pointing it out.

It just points out the fact that these kids were allowed to watch/read just about anything to be able to make these lies up. Whilst I think kids today know far to much if you think back a lot of child abusers got away with things in the past because kids didn't understand that what was happening was wrong (if that makes sense). Now it just seems to have gone completely to the other extreme with kids knowing far to much and I find that very sad.

It comes back to parenting again. I taught my children from a very young age that they should never allow anyone to touch them in any way or any where that made them feel uncomfortable. I explained that parts of their bodies were sacred or private and nobody had the right to touch them there. I told them they should always bring any concerns to me or their dad...We also monitor (still) what they watch, who they talk to on the internet and who their friends are. I'm not going to say that nothing could ever happen, they are still all minors, but I have done my damned best to preserve their innocence at the same time as warning them of the dangers out there.

I too like most of the others here, am appalled that so many children are NOT innocent these days. Also I agree with KATEX that these girls MUST have been aware of the damage they were doing to an innocent man. Many kids cover things up because they can't face getting someone they know/love into trouble. These children had no such qualms..
