My dad (fetched up in Ossie early 1900s) called Padiham folk 'red necks' and Gt Harwood folk 'snuffy haroders' (and he married one)

Born in 28 Croft Street Accrington, Mother was laid up in bed ill when I was born so thats how I was born at home. this area is now where the Aldi stands

I can see the house where i was born now from the house where i live now and have done for the last 35 years!!! Also seeing as im in Rossendale we call accringtonians - accylads and lasses. Im a Brigger seeing as i was born here and still live here.

UMM IT would be interesting to know what they call us over here in sunny Clayton. We call ourselves Top enders and Bottom enders....ummm yea I know

But your profile says your location is Accrington.

I don't know of any derogatory names for Accringtonians. I was born in Blackburn but my parents lived in Hapton at the time and so did I for the first 4 years of my life.

I think we should all be called Acorns, seeing as that is where it derives from ... quite cute that.

Had you something in mind re: Gooles Mick ? What brought that up ? Oh hek !!! just realised .. thicky 'aint I Ya' meant Gooleys, did ya' ?

I can officially claim to be an Accringtonian as I was born at Rough Lee;it even says Accrington on my passport ! Think my mum had 2 of us at Rough Lee and t'other at Blackburn. Sadly my daughter has Blackburn on her passport
