Vindaloo
Seemed a great idea at the time after a few pints & woofed it down no problemo, but this morning the head is fine but the digestive system & back passage are paying dearly.Any one else had any culinary bright ideas after a few bevvies & payed for it the following day? Chip pan fires included

Re: Vindaloo
Seems like a good idea at the time but you often pay for it the day after.. once spoke to some Indian chefs who said they were amazed at how the British wolf down the hottest stuff.. they said Indians would not touch a Vindaloo or Phal with a barge pole!

Re: Vindaloo
I had loose bowels for many years until I found Kefir
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kefir
My problem started in 1980 when I got pseudomembranous colitis (similar to C-difficile) caused by antibiotics. I learnt to control my symptoms at a tolerable level with yogurt, but last year I found kefir (the super yogurt). I make my own (for the price of the milk). It is the most wonderful health product I have ever found on the web. Dont pay silly prices for yogurt health drinks. This does all they do -better. Outlay? - less than a fiver to buy the grains, which go on reproducing themselves as long as you keep using them (same principle as yeast, or a ginger beer plant)

Re: Vindaloo
My ex-brother-in-law used to shovel this stuff down. No known side-effects. Guts of steel, I guess.

Re: Vindaloo
used to guzzle chicken curry n chapati 5/6 nights a week at the azad in late 60s early 70s, wonderful stuff, NOW cant stomach anything with a lot of garlic etc, its called paying the price i believe, probably for the Alcohol consumed though not the curry.

Re: Vindaloo
Thanks for sharing that with us Maxwell, dont eat curry quite that hot but food in general is always a good idea when I've been drinking. Used to always get a cheese salad in a pitta bread then smother it in tomato ketchup, haven't had that in ages.
