Vodaphone Mast in Hollins Lane

Just had an enquiry regarding an application by Vodaphone, to erect a phone mast in Hollins Lane,
near the top gates of Oak Hill Park.
Any one known anything about it.

There was application turned down in Rishton on Parker Street old papermill. Personally I didn't have a problem one being built.

Most of the residents up there have signs or posters saying no to the mast. I suspect they may have a petition or at least lodged an objection

Maybe they should stick a mast on top of the coppice and disguise it as a panopticon.

They could put a platform on top and use it as one!

I would be amazed if anyone was not aware of that fact.

I believe these people are trying their best to prevent such a terrible occurrence, I for one am on side.
Conservation areas should be respected as a place of recreation, not commercialism.

Re: Vodaphone Mast in Hollins Lane

After talking to a couple of residents of Royds Avenue the other day, they have now put the "Say NO to O2" back in their windows, they thought that this had all been sorted out once, but has now reared its ugly head again, get your reponses to Hyndburn Council Planning Dept Scaitcliffe House, Ormerod St, Acc, or email [email protected] by 26/07/11 to object

Seeing the majority of people in this country have mobile phones, we need masts for coverage. Sad fact but true.
I wonder how many people objecting to this mast have mobile phones?
Before we get into nimbyisms, I have 2 masts within 1/2 mile of where I live. I had no choice, they are for Orange and T mobile and I own a O2 phone...

Yes I have a mobile phone, yes masts are needed, but you are missing the point this is going to be nothing but an eyesore where they plan to put it, this is a conservation area. There are other places out of sight i.e king georges playing fields that this montrosity could be placed. Final note what an insult to the men of the Accrington Pals who's names are proudly displayed on the war memorial in oak hill park just a few hundred yards from the proposed site
