Boat people get the royal treatment here too. First, their ship is escorted to one of our ports by The Royal Canadian Navy. They are taken into custody by The Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Then they are provided accomondation in one of Her Majesty's Prisons as they await their deportation

That sounds like the right way to deal with illegal immigrants, if they are illegal then lock them up for breaking the law. I have said before we should put them in Butlins style secure camps while they are processed and allowed to stay or deported. We are to soft here, the authorities appear to have to prove a person should not be here. I think anyone who can't prove they have a right to be here should be locked up like I mentioned until they are processed and decided what to do with them. Does that make me a bad person, or is that other things

A thread wander and a half this is turning into. Talentedbutslow comes home for a visit innocently walks past the Railway, in less than a week we almost have demands for concentration camps.

What would the Country be like if he'd never left?

I think his big mistake was walking past the Railway ... if he had stepped in and bellied up to the bar, this might have been a different thread ... perhaps worthy of a berth in Anything Goes.
