Watch your hanging baskets!

Hi, am just home from work and want to tell you this tale. A friend of mine lives in Lancaster Street in Ossy. During last night, some naughty people pinched all the hanging baskets in the street. This morning my friend realised hers was missing and then by talking to others, realised a lot had gone. During the morning, a gentleman knocked on her door and asked had she also had her basket stolen. It turns out this gentleman and his wife, who were up in the early hours, saw a van, were suspicious, and rang the police. The Police have caught them!!! The baskets are now in Bacup Police station and the people off the street have to go and "identify their hanging baskets" - honestly! So, just a warning in this lovely weather, watch and listen!!!!

Did they just nick the baskets, or did they unscrew the brackets as well?

Oh, dont know about that Tealeaf. Never asked to be honest. I certainly looked if mine was still there this morning.

...It just seems an odd thing to do. I can imagine pinching one basket and getting away with it - but the entire street? Someone must have woken up and seen what was going on and the cops probably picked up the van at Bacup to see what else might be hiding away there....anyway, I'm speculating. It just seems so odd. Why take the risk doing something like that when you can go down Homebase or whatever and buy a dozen for 20quid.
