This whole funeral/burial thing is way too pagan for my taste. My will instructs that I am to be cremated and the ashes scattered in the woods surrounded my house.

In Tenerife, you have two choices, cremation which is the way I prefer, I don't want to be buried alive either, and the second choice is in a hole in the wall. Before they shove your coffin in they cover your body in quicklime. Five years later the hole is ready to receive a new resident.

The local Canarians have a special day during the year when they all go to the wall holes and spend the day with the dead folk.

in mecca u do tend to get ALOT of deaths esp as many muslims feel its esp good luck if u die in a place such as mecca - and over there they barely leave any room between the bodies but then come next year the place does seem rather empty so they must dig them up again and relocate them in the desert

There are a few cultures where people spend time with their deceased relatives but I agree with Mani that it sounds a bit freaky to those of us who are not used to it. They have something like "day of the dead" in Mexico don't they?

Another good reason to be cremated then.

ERE ERE no burial or graveyard for me either
cremation only way for me i dont want to take up land i want to be part of it .preferably around my rose bushes and apple tree with hubby

They would struggle with me. I eat that much food laced with additives and preservatives that there will be no need for an embalmer when I cash my ticket.
