Geez Tadah, you could of put a bit more thought into such a milestone post eh?
Shady, to refer to an Uzi as "a gun" is like calling the Atlantic Ocean a pond . . . oh wait. . . okay, like calling the Amazon River a bit of a stream. The Uzi is an automatic rifle that is unfortunately a weapon of choice for many of the larger, inner city gangs (mostly drug dealers).
You can't just walk in a store and buy one off the rack but must have special permits. Unless of course you're a convicted felon, then you get em from your boys in the hood.
Brian

Re: Weapon of choice?
I'm not trying to be a smart butt or anything (especially to Katex).
However, what kind of weapon(s) can you purchase or own over there? As long as an American hasn't been convicted of a felony (seriously not trying to brag), we can purchase pistols, revolvers, rifles, shotguns (but NOT saw-off ones ), crossbows, compound bows, swords, all kinds of knives, plus gunpowder I think, etc.
Are most all these things either banned or severely restricted in England? Has it always been that way? Can hunters have more leeway than just a regular citizen?
Thanks,
Brian

yep , but why the heck are they available off the shelf , the single fire version (easily adapted to rapid fire) in local gun stores, there is no reasonable excuse for anyone to own one , they are not a sports weapon /hunting weapon/ personal safety weapon .
These things are being imported (into the US) and where is the control , suggest you check out the bill Sen Diane Fienstein introduced to ban these things and ask your local elected officals to provide support .
Guns dont kill people , people do

Re: Weapon of choice?
I agree that there is no reason that anybody needs one of these weapons Steeljack. However, even if they were totally banned, you think the criminals wouldn't be able to get them? It's not the psycho white supremists, typically, using these weapons in an illegal manner.

Can I answer that one when I've picked myself up of the floor?
You can even get in trouble here for owning a plastic toy that looks like a gun!

Re: Weapon of choice?
My weapon of choice would be one of my samuria swords,(all razor sharp)
I take the view that any one breaking into my home, will never leave
the more harm you inflicton the scroats, the less they or there mates will want next time

Re: Weapon of choice?
If someone vroke into my house I would have to rescue them.
Beauty of having 2 dogs.
But without the dogs, I would do anything to keep my family safe (whatever it took), also try to get some DNA out of him, for the police after.
