Amazing that the cctv cameras on there spotted a sign outside the toilets when the Tories closed them, yet they never seem to spot people injecting themselves sat in a bus shelter

It's a regular occurence but maybe the problem will shift on to Broadway when Maundy start expanding on to there and the Arndale to fill all the empty shops

I wonder if the CCTV cameras picked up the benches being moved from outside the Market

Dave don't even mention the Arndale, I'm sure its already on the cards, maybe St Dorothy thinks she needs to go upmarket now she's catering for the middle classes

I doubt for one minute any of the cctv cameras actually work. PB just used it as an excuse

If they do work then I feel very sorry for the operators, they must be so poorly paid they can't even afford a free eye test

Around 10 years ago I went for a look round the CCTV room in the police station, at that time, it was manned by people from Remploy, dunno if that's still the case though

Well if the cameras were working yesterday they would have picked up the dirty pig who decided to have a pee on the street instead of walking the few extra yards to the toilets

The same person was earlier sat in one of the open bus shelters with 4 others openly drinking cans of beer and letting the whole world know in graphic sexual detail what they were going to do to some woman when they got hold of her.

Anybody who was in that vicinity visiting the town for the first time won't be back thats for sure.

...and that little vignette shows exactly why Accrington centre is declining at a far more alarming rate than other town centres. Talk all you want about the problems caused by the economic slump, out-of-town shopping centres, on-line shopping and more, but there is a specific problem over and above this in Accrington. And not one councillor has the guts to even talk about it.

Disgraceful.

Until last summer I hadn't been into Accy Town centre for years and it certainly opened my eyes Wyn, and not for the better

Whilst I would be delighted to see some comments from local councillors it would be great to see comments from County Councillors who should be reporting back to HQ that policing in Accrington is pitifully woeful
