Please dont tar everyone with the same brush, untill you know all the facts.

Are you deliberatley not working so that you can sponge of the state? From the sounds of it you are not so don't get yer knickers ina twist! I was referring to those members of the public who have no intentions of working for a living and trot along to their GP's to get signed off for something imaginary/minor etc, thus taking up appointment space for those of us who genuinley need it.

Similar to the ones with a cut finger who go to A & E when all they really need is a bit of elastoplast?

If it weren't for people who waste NHS time then the rest of us might be in with a chance.

Mind you, just because someone's affliction isn't immediately apparent doesn't mean they don't have a valid reason for visiting their GP. I got a bit cheesed off with someone a few weeks ago who made a big fuss about being disabled and expected to be treated better than everyone else. That may sound reasonable until you find that one of the "everyone else" she was complaining about is actually more disabled than she is but just doesn't make a song and dance about it and so it's not "in your face" and people tend to forget. She does always have a smile on her face and doesn't feel sorry for herself all the time too which I think makes a big difference.

Weren't you notified? Surely they should have informed you and let you know whose register you are now on.

They didn't notify me and when I asked why I wasn't sent a letter then all she said was well you know now. I was fuming that I didn't even know who my doctor was and she didn't seem to care, and may I just add that my baby was in hospital not too long ago and they kept asking me who her doctor was and of course I was saying Dr. Hipwell. The receptionist couldn't understand my problem
