What a innings
Britain's oldest person has died at the age of 114.
What a sad story,"Ethel Lang was believed to be the last person living in the UK who was born in the reign of Queen Victoria."
"114" what a innings, imagine being born in 1900 and living to see today's "smart" gadgets (talk about social change) "Ethel Lang has lived through six monarchs, 22 prime ministers and two world wars" (what a inspiration).
The majority of the population today has only ever known one monarch. In my day there were loads of folk born in Victoria's reign including my grandparents who use to swear a pint of Guinness a day was an absolute requirement for good health (They died aged 97 so there might be something in it ).
.....sad there isn't a single one left now.......May she Rest In Peace.
