What a load of old rubbish!

Channel 4 screened this week the programme 'Human Footprint'.

It calculated everything the average person would produce, or need, in an average life span of 78.5 years.

It was fascinating, and something I often find myself wondering about in the wee small hours. Exactly how many tears do we shed in a lifetime? Well apparently it's 16 litres!

When they showed how much 'waste' we will produce, it was a good reminder to stock up on loo roll.

Totally fascinating, anyone else watch it?

On the linked website you can work out how many minutes you have left to live as well.

Each of us will also get through 77,000 cigarettes, 10,351 pints of beer and 1,694 bottles of wine, not to mention 4.5 cows, 21 sheep, 15 pigs, 1,201 chickens, 2.32 tons of potatoes and 74,802 cups of tea.

I hope that last pint, of the 10,351 drunk, tastes good.

I'm another one who doesn't drink tea so somebody somewhere is drinking a heck of a lot of tea. I can't even stand the smell of the stuff!

It was a very interesting program though. Makes you think.

Re: What a load of old rubbish!

I'd have liked to know how much other boldily secretions we produce, besides number ones and number twos.

Do we sweat enough to fill a swimming pool?

Do we make enough sleep (that green eye crust) to fill a bucket?

There are other ruder things I would have liked to know too.

I believe I've about reached my limit of cigs to around 200 (however, a number of sacks of chewing tobacco), maybe had 2,000 pints of crappy beer (American Style) and 100 pints of good lager and/or ale, maybe 50 bottles of wine, sure I've already had more than 6 - 7 cows, ~10 sheep, 1,000 chickens, ~ 1 ton potatoes, and 20,000 cups of tea!

But that's just me (oh yeah, naught more than a shotglass of tears! as far as any human knows )

Re: What a load of old rubbish!

Going back to basics, each of us will have sex 4,239 times, pass wind 35,815 times, vomit 149 litres, blink our eyes 415 million times, have 7,163 baths and get through 656 bars of soap, 198 bottles of shampoo, 272 deodorants, 276 tubes of toothpaste, 78 toothbrushes, 35 tubes of styling gel, 37 bottles of perfume, 68 bottles of nail varnish and 56 tubes of lipstick.

I dont have a bath - was took out about 6 years ago, dont use styling gel - never used it, perfume - i bought a bottle about 6 years ago and its still going strong now, never paint my nails - mainly because i bite them. I have an electric toothbrush still going strong after 5 years of use - i have changed the brush head though.

I guess that means f***ing is more fun than f***ing ... or perhaps just that one doesn't have to get involved in a complex coupling in order to do it.

Of course, there is also belching, which is also a lot of fun. I think I've already had more than my quota of beer, and am well into someone else's. I quit the cigs but I still roll a few.

If you don't have a bath, perhaps you should consider using perfume.
