What Can You Do?

Here's an interesting question for every-one, our intrepid researcher Mick has discovered this & he would have posted it himself but NTL are replacing all the cabling on his street so he can't get on line to tell you himself.

What can You do at Chorely public library but you can't do at Accrington public Library?

It seems that you can log on to Accringtonweb.com from Chorely but you can't log on from Accrington, when Mick asked why he was told that Accyweb is a chat room & therefore the library won't allow access to it.

Both Chorely & Accrington are run by the L.C.C. so why is there such a discrepency?

IT departments are reknown for this sort of thing. One lot doesn't talk to the others.

Re: What Can You Do?

I think someone needs to learn the difference between a message board and a chatroom.

Re: What Can You Do?

The people in our library get all hot and bothered with the prospect of even having to turn the computers on - they have probably never even heard of 'message boards' or 'chatrooms'...!

Re: What Can You Do?

Could it be that we are expected to turn into Hyndburn Life instead?

Re: What Can You Do?

Considering they have a message board that is probably banned too.

Re: What Can You Do?

That's odd because it's easily 3 years since I tried to access a message board from Accy library and found I couldn't. It was one of the ezboard network.

You would get more people wanting to watch that than attempting to log in to hyndburnlite!

Re: What Can You Do?

You'd even get people offering to buy you a webcam if you wanted to do it in the comfort of your own home!!!

They're having a "quit smoking" day on March 9th. Wonder if that will be any more exciting than the Greg Pope night.
