Re: What did you want to be?
well i wanted to be a jockey i was the perfect size ( 4ft 7 n half inch in my final yr at school....no....bull) then bloomin mother nature took hold and i grew (now 5' 8" lol) so i then decided i wanted to be a chef but after carefull thought i decided against it as i would have to attend college and quite frankly id had enough of school so college was out of the question, so i started work as a upvc fabricator for a year till the firm went bust then i ended up as a creeler/weaver for gaskell carpets for 9 years and took voluntary redundancy when they were in financial trouble earlier last year and i now work as a sealant contractor...oh how life changes....but hey i wouldnt swap it for all the tea in china

Re: What did you want to be?
At age 15 when I had just finished college, I wanted to work with children. I actually went to a meeting at Blackburn collage about it all. I went through a induction programme for a full day, then about 2 hours before the end they said to me " You will have to do 12 month working with the elderly, then be placed on a 2 year course with children".
Well after being told i would have to work with the elderly I said "no thank you" the thought terrified me.
At age 19 and up til now I work with the elderly, love every minute of it, and the fulfillment i feel from my job is fantastic. I really do make a difference to peoples lives every day, and i wouldn't change a thing. Sometimes it gets me down, but i have more good days than i do bad days. I get to meet some of the most interesting people I will ever meet through my job and, I cant stand monotony, which is why I don't work in a factory (tried this once too). Everyday is something different and i love a challenge and boy do i get it sometimes.......But it is the job i chose and the job I love.

Re: What did you want to be?
always wanted to be a pro footballer when i was a kid, played for junoir school and later for a local team-was never going to make it, didn,t help much being a bad sport lol for the local team i played for the a-team 3/4 times was sent off twice so they made me captain of the b team, lasted about 6/7 more games sent off twice again, after that i decided to become a p**s head, that i easily acheived, and now i cant even have drink=suppose thats poetic justice lolll

Re: What did you want to be?
As a small child I had a fascination with space so wanted to be the first woman in space!!! Ok so someone beat me so I gave up that idea. Next I wanted to join the police, met my now ex hubby when just turned 17 and still studying and it just never happened. But I have done so many different jobs and now work in the housing sector but who knows it could all change!!

Re: What did you want to be?
When i was at primary school and somebody asked me that question i honestly replied that i was going to be marry a prince and become a princess far away! to this day my friends still take the harry hiss out of me! i actually went to college to do a 3 year course to join either the R.A.F or police, i completed the course and im still not there. why? can you honsetly imagine me running after a thief or going to war? the enemy will just look at me and laugh! the theif would end up chasing me and they dont give you pink handcuffs!lol. so now i do part time in a video shop while at the moment im looking for a full time job so i can do what my dad says and get a house! two weeks ago i was accepted onto a beauty therapy course at blackburn college i did accept it but i had to turn it down as it costs just under 300.00 and im not allowed a grant neither, i could afford it but the parents would have moaned at me that id be spending another year at college when i could be in a full time job!
so if anyone out there knows a good place to work and there looking for full time staff you know where to find me lol
