What Do I Do?

Just chased some little swines round the streets of Oswaldtwistle. Caught them on top of my Dad's van on the driveway, breaking into it, pulling items out. Both must of been the age of 15/16. Gave them a good bollocking from the window, then began chasing them until they disappeared!..

But as I was chasing, the thought entered my head.. what do I do if I caught one of them?.. Kick their head in? Teach them a lesson.. hold them and ring the Police? Is there anything one can actually do without getting your arse sued?..

Makes you wonder.. It also makes you wonder who the devil these little d*cks thing they are!

You'd probably get done for kidnap or something even if you just held them until the police got there - and they know it.

You wouldn't catch them, just chase them till they fall over and do a lot of damage to their face when they fell

Just kick thier heads in,but try and make sure their not carrying blades .The laws a c***t these days.Kill or be killed.Tony Martin , .....i'd go on burt i'm a bit pished......

You did the right thing to just scare the s**t out of them. Giving them a thump would have just seen you in the police station answering to charges of assault.

Last Thursday, driving down Whalley Road after picking the kids up from school there was a group of three lads stood there about 14/15 year old. Just after we passed them something hit the car. mthead hit the roof! He was gonna 'f***ing kill em' was his exact words. So he whizzed the car round on Garden Street, eventually we caught up with them, he dives out of the car to give em a clout, I just said to the nearest lad "who threw that?" Got the obvious denials from all 3 lads. Big mistake was that they were all in uniform, so dead calm I just said "it's ok lads I'll come into school tomorrow, have a word with your head teacher and ID you in asembley and let him sort you out." One lad eventually said "Sorry it was me". I just said "your damn lucky I haven't let him give you a thump, now get on your way and don't ever do anything like that again or next time you might not be so lucky"

It seemed to work

Good way to sort it tinks , but it dont half pee ya off when these little sh**s know damn well theres not much you can do about it ..

I could though! I could have let mthead give them a thump, the law frowns upon it but society doesn't, infact, you'd probably get a pat on the back but is it worth it

The only problem is that the little so-and-so would probably get hs Dad to sue you and mthead.

Put thick gloves on and take them somewhere dark, let them know your not afraid of them, make an example of them. They wouldn't think twice about hurting you.

I know, that's why I said is it worth it. It really isn't. I did feel I dealt with the situation pretty well, you've got big bad mthead threatening to give them a slap and me telling them I'm in coming into school. They were pretty much backed into a corner. It's just if they go un-challenged they think they can get away with it.

Yeah I agree tinks if more folk did challeange them maybe they,d think twice before behaing like dead heads , but most people today are affraid to challenge for the two reasons ,1...you just dont know what theyre carrying these days and 2 ..Its usually the innocent victim that gets his arse sued .

I agree they need takin somewhere out of sight and the living sh*t scaring out of them

It was a Sunday evening about 7 p.m. A raw egg hit my kitchen window, thrown from the public footpath next to my garden, and splatted all over the glass. I'd had an egg smashed on my car the night before and I was furious. My son, aged 21, was at home and we jumped in my car and set off to find who'd done it.

On the main road we saw 2 lads, aged about 14, carrying an egg box. I stopped the car a little further along and Alan jumped out and confronted them. After a minute he grabbed them both by the shoulder and brought them to where I was standing. "These are the jokers, mother," he said. The lads denied it. They said they had just been in the corner shop to buy some eggs for their grandma.

There were 3 eggs in the 6-pack box. Alan emptied the eggs into a nearby litter bin, making sure they smashed, and he stood over the lads - he's quite broad-shouldered is Alan. He said, "I know you now. If you ever throw another egg I'll be waiting for you." and we drove off.

This happened 20 years ago when lads of that age didn't sue their victims for assault. If it happened now my son would, no doubt, be in trouble for touching them. What a crazy world we're living in.

Chasing them away and possibly catching them is the easy bit. The hard bit is getting the police to do something about it. Clouting them around the lug is assault yet they get away with damaging other peoples property. Tinks I would have gone to the school as well as the police anyway because throwing objects even eggs at a car can cause an accident and they should be made to realise that. Next step would be to sue the arse of the parents for bringing up irresponsible children.

number 1 ....get Mr Plod out of his car and get him walking the local beat so he knows the local population, the local/neighbourhood police patrol doesn't require a university graduate who want's to be Chief Constable it requires a chap with common sense who wants to do right with the local population on his beat , no supercillious attitude to the locals, a guy from a simlar community who can talk to the locals on their level without resentment .
When i was a youngster growing up in Gt.Harwood everyone knew where the local PC lived (Mr. Robinson) top of Park rd. ) and if there was a problem that was where you went not the town police station (outsiders)the police have to live in the local community,and be a part of the local community it's the only way
