For xmas we normally get given as a pressie a big tin of roses or quality street and a big box of biscuits from a couple of mums friends so i dont buy toffees or biscuits. Normally I go down to my sisters on xmas day cos there is only me and my mum and she goes to my other sisters or just stops at home on her own and my sis brings her tea up. So dont buy a turkey or anything like that and on boxing day my sis normally sends me home with left overs! This year it isnt going to be like that though cos shes going to India and wont be back until new years day so for the first time i got to cook a turkey that is if i dont go to my other sisters but she does roast beef instead of turkey and to me xmas is turkey! My biggest expense is new years day. Because I go to my sisters and mum goes to my other sisters I have a party on new years day buffet style so that means raiding asda and m & s for all the party stuff and booze. And with an hangover tis a big mistake! Normally get my sister to make the pizza's and my other sis to make a sherry trifle - she makes one that can get you drunk just off eating it!

usualy i spend christmas eve day preparing the turkey then come home xmas eve night drunk and throw it in the oven to cook over night , i then get up still drunk and spend the morning cooking the rest of the xmas dinner ready for around 2pm

i would say i spend about 4x my normal shopping budget and thats not including beer but this year all i have to by is beer so i will save a few pennies or simply buy more beer with what i save on food

the kids descend from differant ends of the country and its lovely to see them so we always splash out on an extra tin of beans.p.m.s.l.

That’s interesting Katex, I was going to post a new thread asking how people in the Asian community dealt with Christmas and how they associate with the rest of the community. Indian on Christmas day? Not all that strange I suppose when you consider that the good man himself was Jewish. How do other people celebrate Christmas? Anyone got any quirks or interesting ways of celebrating it.

i celibrate christmas by spoiling my kids , eating to bursting point then drinking myself into oblivion coz the TV is so crap on christmas day..

afterall isnt that what christmas is all about ...?
