16 year old if you can get it is top notch. Not as good as good Scottish Whisky though.

To be British means that you were either born in GB or your father was British if you were born abroad somewhere. You hold or are eligible to hold a British Passport. I believe that if you were born abroad from non-British parents you can still get British citizenship if your paternal grandfather was British.

However my eldest daughter was born in Capetown whilst I was stationed at Cape East/HMS Afrikander (naval base) whilst serving in the Royal Navy, her birth was registered with the British Consulate and she received a British birth certificate. Yet when she recently applied for a passport she was turned down because the passport office told her that she was not British.

I do believe SPUGGIE J that Great Britain consists of England (excluding parts of Bradford, Blackburn and Accrington and several other towns which are known as suburbs of Karachi), Scotland and Wales. This includes the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight, the Scottish islands and the Channel Islands. When Northern Ireland is tagged on we become the United Kingdom and when Ulster is tagged on we become the British Isles.

However after the recent antics of Senator Blair we can also be classed as the unofficial 51st state of the USA.

I agree with Wynonie Harris on this - Scots MPs shouldn't be able to vote on purely English matters. Lots of Scots will vote on this week's Education Bill, yet it doesn't affect them or their constituents at all. Some people say we would end up with two-tier MPs, but I think that we already effectively have that in that I can't vote on Scottish education matters but Scots can vote on English education.

The irony is Greg that on some bills that are to apply to England and Wales only he might need the Scots crew to get them though.

The real irony is that I know of quite a few Scots Labour MPs who are going to vote against Tony tomorrow! Anyway, have to go and vote now (on a Bill that applies to all parts of the UK regarding the Armed Forces).

Surely what it means to be British is being proud of having a lot of the best things this world has to offer - Best Literature, Best Music, Best Television, Best Theatre, Best Actors and Actressess and Best Footy team (Accy Stanley).

Oh! I get it! Not only does the Karma giver or taker away not have a clue about writing in English (capital E – get it?) s/he doesn’t have the guts of a true Englishman to put their name to their comments. So sad! So very, very sad!
