Re: what you having for christmas dinner?
I'll be having Prawn cocktail followed by Turkey and all the trimmings and then Mince Pies and Christmas pudding. It will be the first time in years that I have this actually on Xmas day and the best thing of all is that I won't be cooking for a change. We are going out to a restaurant in Playa di SanJuan, Tenerife -it will be odd having such a big meal in hot weather!

I've had duck and also Goose at different Christmas meals, duck has always been a dark meat and delicious, Goose, well, cooked right it is the perfect bird, left to stew in it's own juices, rather than drain the fat, well worth rubbing against your chest as a cure for infections, otherwise you could be disappointed.
P.S. Was tempted to say I've often had to duck because of the Christmas Goose I so generously handed out, but it doesn't look as funny in print,
so I won't bother.

Re: what you having for christmas dinner?
I haven't got a clue, to be honest!
I am going to my Sister and bro-in-law's house, and my Sister is working until 7:30 pm.
So I don't know who is cooking... It won't be me (understandably I am not so experienced with xmas dinner food) ...And I've a feeling if we wait for my Sister we'll have all had too much to drink to me much cop at it, so It's probably to be my Mother....( who could burn ice-cream if she tried, she once fed me some scones with glass in them, and last time she made me food it was a bowl of lettuce and six chips, you get the idea!)
I might cook my own dinner separately...As I said in the 'Roast Dinner' thread I may take the opportunity to cook myself something nice instead of what I usually do which is just having everything but the meat lol.
I usually get to make dessert though, I often make chocolates and put soy cream on them-sometimes I even get to have some myself , they were all gone by the time I reached the table last year!

There is a difference between wild duck and farmed duck, wild duck has much less meat, even so farmed duck does not have as much meat as a chicken and the meat is stronger and greasier, very nice with plum sauce!

Curry at Balti Stan with the family. Was going to cook a turkey dinner boxing day, but my son's girlfriend invited us there for a meal. So having a lazy Christmas.

Re: what you having for christmas dinner?
It depends on two things :-
1) The Maundy Relief foodbank being open on Christmas Eve.
2) Finding the tin opener.

Rather kills this thread dead till you find out it means pork fried rice!
I do envy you the fruit - two of my favourites.

Whatever my Mum decides to cook!
I will help with the prep but I think she is going to get some beef, gammon and chicken.
