Re: What's happening on Broadway now?
There are Christmas lights on Broadway too.
It's like a winter wonderland..............in Baghdad.

Re: What's happening on Broadway now?
They left them up last year Spuggie because they couldn't afford to have them taken down!
I shall be going into town today to see how beautifully this mess is progressing.

I thought it was lazyness so the jokes about councils and light bulbs is true then.
Maybe they will take them down this year to avoid the flak. Besides a beack with coloured lighting mike give some the idea of an all year party.
I certainly dont want reminding in March about Christmas past now or future.

Re: What's happening on Broadway now?
Someone has sprayed the area with silly string......and it has stuck to the gravel. Not the look that the designers ahd in mind I'm sure.

Re: What's happening on Broadway now?
Yes Margaret, it's covered in the stuff isn't it. That happened on Thursday night at the light switching on thing. There were a couple of stalls selling silling string and flashy light things (one can only assume they had got licences from the council to be there). Some teenagers had bought the silly string and were doing what you do with silly string - covering each other and the floor.
As for my opinion on the actual street itself - I think it's dull, unimaginative and boring, boring, boring but at least they got the thing finished.

Re: What's happening on Broadway now?
That gravel looked great before people started walking on it and spraying stuff on it and dropping fags and litter, also it's bloody horrible to walk on.

Try flip-flops, you'll find it'll make you a sunnier, happier, little bunny as well. Bless.

Re: What's happening on Broadway now?
This is the first I have seen Broadway since I was down in October and it has about as much wow factor as a polar bear in a bikini.

Re: What's happening on Broadway now?
Nice pics Mick, the building on the right could do with some serious refurbishment

Re: What's happening on Broadway now?
Boring, boring, boring...
....and the photos make it look good!
The whole scheme shows a total lack of imagination!
