What's next, spud mashers?
"More than 17,700 weapons, including daggers, machetes, steak knives and even paring knives, were handed in during the first week of a national knife amnesty in Britain, the Home Office recently reported."
Well, whoopee! Guess you folks can't be trusted with sharp, pointy objects, eh? Seriously though, may one ask what this law is supposed to accomplish? And would anyone care to speculate on what the next banned item might be?

Re: What's next, spud mashers?
i think you have to be 16 or maybe 18 before you can buy a knife
however you can buy an axe , a sledge hammer etc from your local DIY store at any age or a baseball bat from your local sports shop
who needs knife shops when you can buy much better tools and at bargain discount prices from B&Q

Headline from The Times, August 9th, 2006. "Knife attacks surge 73% as amnesty fails." Gee, so soon? Doubtless more Draconian measures will soon follow.

Re: What's next, spud mashers?
There are amnisties on a regular basis so whats to say they aint going out and buy some cheap knife and hand that in and keep the good one. Mabe rulers will be next to stop kids waking each other with them.

Or may be all the good guys will hand over their slightly dodgy knives, leaving all the idiots and thugs with weapons.

Re: What's next, spud mashers?
I once went to a night club in Wigan, the bouncer on the door asked us if we had any knives on us, we said no, so he gave us one each.
