Re: Where have all the jobs gone?
You never know...if the custom is there for good quality stuff, then maybe someone will want to take it on and continue to provide these things to the people of Ossy.
I know when Ma and I have been out and about on our travels we look for somewhere that will make you a butty with fresh ingredients.....and look for grub that looks like it was made in my kitchen....most times the food is better than what you would pay the same price for in the supermarket chains.
And don't get me started on the motorway outlets!!!!!!

Not the same company, it's a firm run by the son of the Metcalfe half of M&T but they do the same kind of work.
The owner's my brother-in-law and they rent part of my building on Blackburn Rd.
Unfortunately they don't employ anything like the workforce that M&T had.

Metcalfe and Tattersal both worked as saw doctors for Shopfitters in the 60s Steve

Re: Where have all the jobs gone?
Some employers relocated to business parks away from residential areas.
This became feasible when car ownership increased.
Altham Business park seems to be thriving.
Business Directory Altham - UK
I am surprised that Senator International is not mentioned on that site - as far as I know they are still trading from there.
