Re: Which to choose
I would never use any firm other than Hyndburn Taxis....They are always clean cabs, appear to be well maintained and we have never had a bad driver.
The drivers are all really helpful with Ma's wheel chair too.
I would just like to add that I have no connections with this firm other than being a customer.

Re: Which to choose
That's the firm I always use as well Maragret.
Two rings in the phone when they arrive, no illegal blowing of horns at night and clean cars which don't smell of smoke.

Re: Which to choose
They are the best taxi firm by far. I always use them, the drivers are always polite and helpful and there's no embarrassing silence or crappy music on your journey. I always feel safe in their cabs.

Re: Which to choose
I have recommended them many times, purely because I have never ever had a bad experience with them......they are reliable for being prompt too.
I feel safe in their cars.

I was explaining to my 17 year old why you apply the hand brake and how the clutch works in the cars and why I don't want to be changing it in his should he ever get one.
I also pointed out to him how the taxi in front of us facing the old entrance to the railway station had creep through the red light so his whole car was over the white line.
Professional driver they are not. We need the Police doing their job and dealing with all these minor traffic offences that turn into fatalities like outside Asda

The police are afraid to do their job, as i explained on a thread about illegal parking, it aint gonna happen, its not the ordinary plods fault, its the clowns wi authority that give orders.

The "Reg."
If you mean the orange light ... it's a safety device for the driver; if the light is flashing it means the driver is in trouble; and anyone on the road seeing the flashing light will call 911 (999) ... there is also a panic button which lets dispatch know there is a problem .... all cabs have GPS and WiFi; so, their location can be passed on to the police ... all cabs have cameras inside ... all dispatch is done by computer and there is a Samsung tablet in each car through which the driver can communicate with dispatch ... there is also voice communication. All fares are metered. There is a pinpad in every car and all cabs accept credit and debit cards. The company has an app which sends the closest free taxi to your location. Taxis must have 3 MTO safety checks every year; and there are regular spot checks. The local Taxi Commission looks after licencing of drivers and cars. Most Kingstonians seem happy with the local taxis.

Ah ... now I get it ... If he had said "plate" I would have got it in one. I'm still old fashioned enough to use vowels
