Re: who cooks the best meal in accrington?
Well, definitely not me .. lousy cook ... and oven door blew 12 months ago still on floor with glass dropping off every few seconds !!
New one opened on Blackburn Road called Over Coffee, think proprietor used to be in Ossy Mills .. at least she bought some table linen, so could be posh like. Worth a try.

Re: who cooks the best meal in accrington?
Frey Brentos ... yuk !! Nah, was away in Manchester on a 'girls'' night out at the time ... so nowt in oven .. just general protest by an inaminate object I reckon, against abuse of its purpose in life. Anyway, back to thread .. not sure really, all a matter of taste, don't you think ?? I like weak tea .. some people like it strong, some people like loads of butter on sandwiches, some nowt, some folks love pasta .. I hate. Can't really generalise on this question, can you ?? The question has really gotta be who has the most adaptablity to peoples' tastes, n'est pa ?

I will try most things apart from the mother in laws cooking. Even rats and pidgeons would turn their nose up at it.

Re: who cooks the best meal in accrington?
Spuggie - you remind me of Tony Hancock's line -
"I thought my mother was a bad cook, but at least her gravy moved about a bit".
It's true, though, some people just can't cook, however hard they try.

Re: who cooks the best meal in accrington?
Confused Spuggie ... don't you always put water in steak pie 'cause then the goodies comes out of the steak to make good stock. Can't put gravy in because you have to get this from previous water + meat ..... help !!!!

Re: who cooks the best meal in accrington?
The pie was already cooked but the meat was a bit dry so she put water in the pie instead of gravy.

Re: who cooks the best meal in accrington?
I think Trickets in the market hall makes a great cuppa. If your a regular you rarely have to ask for what you want as they remember. Not sure about a steak though the cafe in the arcade do nice meals

Re: who cooks the best meal in accrington?
My wife's steak pie is to die for.
I am blessed with a wife who is a fantastic cook (she takes after her mum, but she is definitely an improved version!!!).
The only people in our house who don't always appreciate this are the kids. Perhaps they should live with my mother for awhile and sample really bad cooking...
