I passed mine.

I was twelve, as I wasn't allowed a bike until then. Before that I just had my customised wheelchair, which I rescued from the tip, and for which you didn't need a cycling proficency test, just a big strong girl to push you up and down the lane.

i seem to remember taking my bike into st nicholas' when i was there, maybe i passed maybe i didnt, who knows i love going out on my bike in the summer with reece....hence the footballers legs i have (or as my nan used to say 'rib crushers')

I think they'd stopped it by the time I had a bike, think Lettie was in the Observer with her certificate in the 70's if my memory serves me well.

Seem to remember doing some sort of official test, with my new Ladybird bike, in Peel Park playground, which would be around .... mmmmmmm .. 1951/52 !!, but that's all..

I suppose once you'd got that, you had a good excuse to be behind the bike sheds with the boys.

They still did them when i was at school in '94-i couldn't do it,my brother borrowed my bike the week before (without asking) and buckled the wheels
