Who Supplies Yellow Pages

I know it used to be BT, I haven't been a customer of theirs for over 5 years now, but I still get the latest update delivered to the door.
Similarly the local phone book turns up as well.
It's not as if in these days of the internet I ever use either, seems such a waste of someones money, I'm glad it's not mine.

Re: Who Supplies Yellow Pages

Bearing in mind, it was yesterday I got my new Y.P.'s
As I wandered out today heading townward, within half a street of home I overtook a couple, a pair of pensioners. He was pulling a couple of strip down old ladies shopping trolleys (you know the sport's model), they were overloaded with yellow pages, she took one off the top of a pile, walked up the path and posted it, walked back, met up with him, they then walked on to the next gate, she picked one off the pile, walked up the path, etc.

Somehow I don't think they are being paid piece work, by the time they actually make their way into town I think they will be starting all over again with next years reprint.

Still, they looked dedicated to the job and the way they greeted each other after being apart during each trip up the garden path, there is nothing wrong with the love they have obviously shared.

Ah, Bless.

Yellow Pages customers fund the directory, it is a private business now. More and more people have switched online only but there are more areas covered by separate books now which is another reason why each one is thinner than they used to be. The same is true of Thomson directories although I haven't bothered with that one since the complete failure to generate any business for me in 2002.

BT I am less certain about, possibly part-subsidised by the government but I am far from sure.

A woman.

With long, lank hair, glasses, and pinched features.

She supplied mine.
