Who'll Be Next To Go, after Woolworths?
After Woolies & MFI going into administration who do you think will be the next big named high street store to fold?My moneys on a clothing outlet, possibly Burtons or some womens retailers. With money being tight i suspect people will be opting for cheaper fashion at the likes of Primark or Matalan.
Also these poundshop/discount stores must be rubbing their hands with glee with this recession & the foresight they had to open these stores.I know we often moan about the ammount of charity/pondshops in Accy, but i think soon we could be grateful they're there.

Woolies are a legend.. but they will be taken over... it's the same when land of leather and the army navy stores went.. it's all taken over ...same as banks TSB?..these massive companies sold off by the board of directors.. then the board members move on to other companies...I reckon you know that already Maxwell.

time bought tiny then went bust but not before ripping of thousands of people who had paid upfront infact i recall one member here been a victim of time/tiny computers
pcworld are as far as i know are a consortium of pcworld, currys, dixons and possibly 1 or 2 more but as far as i am aware they never had anything to do with time computers
if im wrong i will put my hand up but im pretty sure pcworld never were connected to time apart from using teh same cheap rubbish to build their computers
edit:
i see you edited while i was replying lol

The Land of Leather was taken over by the same bloke, he just keeps inventing himself Mancie, he once owned UNO when that went bump but he didn't suffer, but people who had paid deposits on suites did big time. The reason I remember this well is that only three weeks prior I had had a suite delivered from UNO, I was lucky. This guy in question was investigated by Watchdog some years ago, that's when his dealings came to light. Its always amazed me how people like this can gt away with these practices, go bust one day then open up the day after under another name
