Willow Hotel

I have a couple of booklets, one of cartoons and one "75 Years in the Red" which is about problem years at Acc Stanley. They both appear to printed in the 50's by T. Booth of Willow Hotel, Accrington. I cannot remember a Willow Hotel in Accrington and would appreciate it if someone could enlighten me as to where it was situated.

Re: Willow Hotel

Can't find any reference to Willow Hotel. Retlaw is probably the one to know if/where one existed.

Re: Willow Hotel

Atarah Hindle has a 1950s trade directory. She'll have a sken at it.

Re: Willow Hotel

Many thanks for the interest shown. I wondered whether one the the places that are now offices on Willow Street might have been a pub originally but I don't remember it but there again I was only a kid or a young teenager in the 50's.

My hubby says from memory, and he stands to be contradicted, The Willow Hotel was situated on Willow Street, across the road from the children's library.

It was along time ago. but he has had a rethink and now says it was not facing the library but at the Eagle St end.

Re: Willow Hotel

There was a cafe/restaurant at the corner of Willow Street and Eagle Street , now long gone , and I can't remember its name or whether it was part of a hotel .

Re: Willow Hotel

Thanks Irene that probably is the one, I have no recollection of it although there was a shop in Birch Street that always seemed to have bottles of Sandiman's port and Harvey's sherry in the window next to Willow Street.
