Winter Help
During a conversation last night the subject of hot toddies came up and what is the best way to make one and what with. Now as the weather is getting worse and all these nasty bugs are spreading faster than panic on Wall Street what is the best hot toddie and what do you put in it? The price of so called cold n flu "helpers/cure alls" is it not wise to consider the toddie or any other for the lack of a better name "folk remedies" I mentioned using lime instead of lemon though I have yet to try it.
Lime + Honey + 1 shot of decent whisky + hot water

Depends on the definition of owd. Though there are a lot of people that get them free some suffer side effects and wont take it. I am one of those that might consider paying for it as when I was ill the other week i was rougher than sand paper.

Re: Winter Help
Hot lemonade (the good stuff not the cheap 50p a bottle rubbish) 2 slices of fresh lemon or lime teaspoon of clear honey a shot of good whisky.
put a cup of lemonade with the fresh lemon/lime, honey, and whisky in a microwave for 1 min
on full power remove the lemon and squeeze the juice out and any lemon/lime pulp, stir put back in the microwave for a further min.

I'm one of those that don't have it, always ended up in hospital within days of having the jab

Re: Winter Help
Flu jabs at Accrington Asda cost £10, not sure if they are still doing them though.

Daughter used to do these for Superdrug as an extra job. Sure they were £15 about 2 years ago, but probably stores offering discounts now .. LOL.
Might try asking at your docs Spuggie, they may have overstocked and will sometimes let you have them on request.

Re: Winter Help
Whisky and Hot water is all you need really, with a slice of lemon. Add honey or sugar to taste.....then repeat the dose when glass is empty untill condition improves!!
Best Regards - Taggy

Re: Winter Help
We don't do the jabs at Boots in Acc, larger branches do though, think Burnley was the nearest offering the service.
Vitamin c and red wine usually does the trick for me.

not sure if putting the whiskey in the microwave is a good idea , seem to remember that alcohol boils at a point lower than water so it might evaporate and reduce the potency , I allways add mine after the water and other stuff has been heated
