Re: work has started

Thanks for the Pics Mick, you are an example to us all.

I had to laugh at the pic labelled 3.jpg. Can anyone tell me what is the point of putting a traffic sign at the top of Cornhill to inform drivers that Broadway is a Pedestrian Zone. I would have thought that if they had taken the time and trouble to drive all the way down Broadway to get into Cornhill in the first place that they would aleady be perfectly well aware that Broadway was a Pedestrian Zone.

I had a look along Blackburn Road from the end of Church Street on Sunday morning and was amazed at the number of traffic signs. It's a wonder there aren't more accidents caused by drivers being too distracted to be able to look where they are going.

This is one of the main reasons that HBC is short of cash. Rather than spend on things that are really necessary they throw it at road signage and putting numbers on every piece of street furniture in sight.

Re: work has started

Nice Photos Mick. I know this about Broadway, but have people seen the amount of Rose Bay Willow Herb growing on the top of the Market Hall and quite a few other buildings around the area. This can only be causing further damage to the stone work.

Re: work has started

It’s vigorous and will grow anywhere the seeds settle. The seeds are the nice fluffy things you see floating around on the breeze. It loves Railways and disturbed sites. You will remember it has the bloody stuff that boarders the allotments in summer and get everywhere. Long straight green stems with a perfusion of nice pick flowers and s*** loads of fluffy seeds.
