LancYorkYankee, sure you have the £ symbol on your keyboard. Hold down the alt key while pressing 0163 on the right hand numeral board and the £ will be there.

I didn't realise that this daft bint was from Blackburn. Look at these quotes from her:

No....I would know it wasn't mine and my conscience would not let me spend any of it. I would notify the bank of their error and hope they would recognise my honesty and donate a few quid to my account.

I don't pay any bank charges. It would not be my money, and it would be dishonest of me to use it.
mistakes happen, if the DWP overpaid me I would have to pay it back, and what is more I would expect to pay it back.

Think i would have got a statement printed out from the bank just so i could say that i have actually had that much money in my account, (even if it wasn't mine it still would have looked good). Then would have questioned it and would definately not have spent any until it was sorted out. Might have been tempted to put it in a high interest account though then would have tried to keep the interest that was made on the money.

I can only think this young woman is one fish short of a shoal. Who in their right mind wouldn't expect the bank to find out its mistake? It's one thing knowing the money wasn't hers but it's another to think she could spend it and nobody would ever know.

It was obviously meant for an account with a similar number to hers and she should have realised that the person who deposited it would query where it had gone. I think she should have treatment for her stupidity as much as punishment for her dishonesty.
