Would you believe it.

Would you believe it. Nothing ever seems to go right.
It's happened yet again.
Mick rings the hospital this morning to check on the bed situation. Oh, yes. Come on in. We have plenty.
Was the reply.
The ambulance car picks us up and off we go. We reach the ward and it was can I have a word with you Mr Blackledge.
I'm sorry to have to tell you " We dont have a bed for you. We have tried every ward in the hospital to try and get one for you."
He was told to keep his bag packed has he can be recalled at anytime.
Still there is a bright side. We will be able to attend the christmas meet and have fun.
Poor Love he never seems to have much Luck.
He will be telling you all about it in his Blog that he will be putting on shortly.

Re: Would you believe it.

I’m sorry to hear that Anne. What a complete waste of time and I bet it’s been a really long day for you and Mick.
It would be good though if you and Mick where now able to attend Fridays speak-easy night due to the botched situation.

Unbelievable.

Like you say, the only good thing is that Mick'll hopefully be at the meet.

Let's hope they eventually get you sorted out soon.

Re: Would you believe it.

Thanks Len.
It's been the longest days in a long time. We both had an headache on way back.
I cant even muster the energy to be angry, this time.
Worse thing for me was haveing to get up at stupid o'clock. I just dont do mornings.
I hate mornings.
At least it will cheer him up being able to go to the meet and not be in any discomfort.

A bit of a raw deal for you and Mick but if it means the festivities are not interupted then its a cloud with a silver lining.

Re: Would you believe it.

one would think that with all the extra billions that the government has pumped into the NHS over the past eight years, an enormous proportion of which, we are told, has been spent on management, that at least their ability to manage the availability of beds would be second to none. Or is this a creative accounting way of reaching the governments treatment and waiting lists targets?

Re: Would you believe it.

What a shame!!!! I bet you were both really naffed off, but we will be pleased to see you on friday.

It's sad but true that the way beds are managed is to close them. The NHS has lost so many beds in the last 10 years it's ridiculous. People are going home within 3 or 4 days after major operations and surgical beds are blocked by elderly medical patients because there aren't enough medical beds at this time of the year to cope with the vast amount of elderly medically ill.

Re: Would you believe it.

Well i did tell you mum next time ask if they have "any EMPTY beds" not just ring and ask if there are any beds.

I was really angry when i found out not for the fact that there is no beds but because he has been messed about since he had his heartattack, its not on and people should not have to be put through this and then for people to just shrug it off and think its ok at the end of the day its not like hes just taking a trip to the dentist!!!!!
