Cant wait for the big day to be over already so they may calm down a bit - anyone else with parental stress already as well as the xmas one ???

Re: Xmas Hyper Kids

It isn't just kids who are hyper. There are plenty of manic looking adults in towns up and down the country at this very moment in time. It is a total nightmare trying to get any shopping done, queues are long, people are generally more ill mannered and impatient IMO. My mum tells me that Asda is opening at 1 minute past midnight on Xmas Eve........WHY???????

Who the hell needs sub-standard veggies and packet bread sauce that badly???

This country is totally bonkers at this time of the year. I am going to hibernate until it is all over with.............Can someone please wake me up in the Spring.

Re: Xmas Hyper Kids

Not everyone is grouchy but there do seem to be a lot of grumpy impatient people around don't there?

Last Sunday the Primary teacher at our church said it was impossible to keep the kids calm as they were so excited about Christmas. Imagine what they're going to be like tomorrow!

My teenage girls are OK but the eldest one is a bit sad because she was told today that she isn't being kept on in her Saturday job. They supposedly took her on a 13 week trial but it's only half way through. They were supposed to give her training but didn't and now have told her to leave because she doesn't know what she's doing. They didn't even warn her in advance - let her get ready and go this morning, then asked her for her uniform and keys and sent her home. They can only get away with that because she is still in the 13 week trial period.

Add that to the stolen phone saga and she isn't feeling particularly on top of the world today.

You're not on your own. My eldest isn't too bad but my 4 year old is like an excited little puppy, can't sit still, dancing, can't shut up....

Seemingly, the average intake of calories per person on Christmas Day is 7,000 calories !! Now that is 'a lot' !!

Re: Xmas Hyper Kids

make some salt dough and let the kids pound it out and make stuff with it if they make decorations bake em in the oven on low overnight and then let them paint it. Keep em quiet for a bit.
