Zero Tollerance In Sweden.

Twenty five years ago I worked for a while in Sweden, they had a zero tollerance to drink driving, anyone caught driving with alcohol received an automatic jail sentence. This sentence was served either at weekends, or from 6pm to 6am weekdays thus alowing the transgressor to go to work, so they and their families did not become a burden on the state. With the festive season upon us , would not this help towards the increase in drink driving that inevitably occurs?

Re: Zero Tollerance In Sweden.

Just watched the program "Tonight With Trevor MacDonald" which was on this subject and looking at beer strength, measure size what people think is the limit etc then its odd that people that still risk it. They ran a few experiments and was shocked at how little was needed to impair judgment.

I think it should be zero tolerance the amount of people I've heard saying "I'm ok with a couple it doesn't affect me" then drink about 4 pints, yes they may not feel drunk but their reflexes will be impaired, personally I dont have any if I'm driving because I would want more than one better not to have any.

Into.W fully agree and think that the sooner that happens the better. No need for courts no delay in punishment no costs to taxpayer as they will still be working (if claiming benefits then they cut so that 1 they cant drink or 2 they stop driving and sell car)

boy am i in a dream world now LOL
