Hopefully the Weather will be kind

I'm keeping my fingers, arms, toes and legs crossed

Don't forget the long awaited return of "It's a Knockout" will also be taking place at the Show

Hopefully kicking that off will be a Battle of the Mascots using some of the games from the "It's a Knockout Event" between Stanley's Fraser the Eagle & Burnley's Bertie the Bee

Re: Barrowford Show

Thats a shame, seem like quite a few will miss out!

What brought the decision on? Weather?

Are they re-scheduling?

Re: Barrowford Show

I take it that its waterlogged almost already & the weather is set to be miserable for at least till early next week before it picks up again, suppose its a H&S issue or the threat of it being a wash out.

It's not so much whether people are bothered about getting muddy but if the ground is very bad already, churning it all up could cause irrepairable damage, especially on Bull Holme which needs to be used all winter for football.

Re: Barrowford Show

It was a really tough call and was one not taken lightly

We had a walk around both sites before last nights meeting and the Park was already in stagnant water and mud from yesterdays downpour it was decided at that point that the Park could not be used. Bull Holme as Dave says is a different kettle of fish as it is used for Football & also Cricket, part of the agreement with the Show is we have to make good when the Show is finished and it was felt that if we went ahead and had a bad day with attendances and then had to make good it could jepordise future shows. So with heavy heart the descision was made that if we cancelled last night we could save certain amounts of money and hopefully bring it back Bigger & Better Next Year.
