didn't think the chef carved it? thought it was just some low paid oik. plus the chefs at them places are usually busy microwaving. lol

was talking to my other sister about this last night and she went up with her hubby and the kids, they got exactly the same and weren't impressed either

Britan Pub as never been the same since owd Jim (or was bill) had it, flag floors with sawdust and if you asked for a bag of crisps he'd look at the strange and just say, tha comes in here furt thale not thi bloody dinner

Bill was his lad that lived in the cottages and used to come in each night for a half.
I used to enjoy working there and I think we got it to a good standard. food was good quality and reasonable price. Ale was on top form ( even the head brewer from the brewery used to tell me I kept a cracking pint). In the end I was poached by Whitbread by an area manager who used to come in for his lunch and offered me a job there and then.

In that case they were both called Bill Ian, remember young Bill when his dad was still behind the bar, he lead him a dogs life, young Bill used to set of walking just to get out of the way

Everyone in ossy knows his name he was the best Landlord here and his son who we called little BILL who sadly passed away a few years ago was one of the kindest blokes i have ever known he had a flair for gardening grew everything you could imagine and kept a lot of us well stocked with stuff everyone who knew him never had a bad word for him not many about that you can say that about brilliant bloke sadly missed by lots from ossy i am sure of that.
