Re: Christmas Do (Thread One)
As well as having Theakstons i'm in the process of trying to get another real ale put in. Does anybody have any preferences as to which one. I'll have to be quick though.

Re: Christmas Do (Thread One)
Yo! Thats more like it - civilised drinking.
I'd go for Thwaite's Lancaster Bomber or Timothy Taylor's Landlord.
Cheers!

We are a Scottish & Newcastle house, so unfortunately we won't be able to have any Thwaites ales.

Re: Christmas Do (Thread One)
Timmy Taylors Landlord, always went down well at the Stop & Rest. Theres also Brydge Bitter. Also can't remember the name of the beer but its from a brewery in Blackburn called 3 Bee's. Not that I like bitter anyway, but from what I've sold whilst working in pubs.

I thought S & N had flogged off all their pubs to an outfit called Spirit Group? Anyway, if you can't have thwaites, try and get another guest beer in..What about Abbot? I see quite a few ex-S&N pubs knocking out that stuff.

Re: Christmas Do (Thread One)
Hey looks like I may be able to make the upcoming meet! Thing is, I'll need a ride from the airport. Unfortunately, that's Washington Dulles Airport . So . . . any of you kind folks able to swing by for a pickup?
Hmm, maybe I could stow away in Billcat's luggage? Here'll be wishing I was there.

Re: Christmas Do (Thread One)
jay-will you be selling that cheap WKD we were drinking at the last meet-the blue stuff that tastes better the more drunk you get?
it was called '69' but needless to say not many people are up for going to the bar and asking for one by name

Re: Christmas Do (Thread One)
For the last christmas do's, we have had a little raffle, the prizes being things that people have brought along - bottle of wine, box of chocies, that sort of thing. Are we going to do the same thing this year?
