'D Proms'

Up at this unusual hour on a Monday 'cause had to pick Grandaughter up from her 'Proms' at Stirk House. PROMS !! for heaven's sake .. how American are we becoming !! Even have a Prom Queen; couple of years and they will all be bemoaning the fact that they 'aint got a date to go with, carrying a flower to pin on there pretty pink dress, just like in the movies. Quite a few arrived in stretch limousines and one in a classic vintage car ! !

Nothing wrong with a leaving do, where the girls can dress up in silk dresses and the lads in evening suits, but please can we keep it quintessentially English with a decent title.

Naturally, Grandaughter, was a little unusual with her Angelina Houston look, skull necklace and coffin bag, standing out in the crowd with purposely applied pale make-up, in defiance of the sun-bed basked rest of the crowd.. but that is another story

Re: 'D Proms'

Why can't they have an end of year discotheque?

Oh no, that's French.

What about making them dance in a cow shed and call it a barn dance?

I agree, nice to have a party but a prom is just too Yanky Doodle not so Dandy.
