Days out

The School Holidays are here again and as usual i have run out of places to take Reece (not that he's really bothered about spending time with his mummy anymore) we haven't been anywhere together for ages, Reece being of an age where he'd rather be out with mates, so today we agreed to go out together on the train somewhere.......but where???

I thought about Hebden Bridge, it's not too far, they have a nice canal, but have they got anything else? A market perhaps?

Any otherr suggestions???

HELP!!!

Re: Days out

Not sure of his age or your transport - how about Clitheroe = castle/museum. Edisford Bridge, Towneley Hall - park etc. Witton Park - larger play area for over 10s.
Hollingworth Lake Littleborough.

I'd second that, Churchills "Western approaches" Atlantic convoys museum, Liverpool 1 shopping, Liverpool museum, Albert Docks & many more things to see & do, even a trip on the ferries.

Re: Days out

Walkinman, we used to go to the armouries 3 or 4 times a year, the novelty kinda wore off after the tenth time, the train station is 15 minutes walking from the armouries, it's a lovely place, the tilt yard is lots of fun for little kids

David, we haven't been to Liverpool since last year, i think after reading what you wrote we will be going again very soon, thankyou

there's not a lot of places we haven't been over the years, those who have known me on here for a few years will know i love this country and i've travelled to most places in it, Newcastle, London, Edinburgh, Manchester, York, Leeds, Liverpool, Preston, Blackpool, Morecambe, The Lakes, i think i've exhausted all the museums, aquariums, parks and markets, my lad is almost 15 and has brilliant memories of our days out, to me life is all about making memories and Reece has them in abundance

I am waiting for that museum to become fully open , Then I will go down .

I never get long enough time to spend down there to see what I want in the day , before I need to catch a train back home .

Re: Days out

David, you should go earlier and get a later train back like we do, we always have more than enough time, don't rush yourself, let me know when it's fully open, me and Reece will go then, thanx
