Daytrips

Having found ourselves without a car and having to rely on Public Transport, just wondering if anyone has any names/websites etc of firms that run day coach trips at the weekends as getting a bit fed up of keep going to Manchester every week!!
Thanks

Re: Daytrips

thanks for the suggestions, certainly realised how unfit we are with all the walking we are doing. Certainly give York a try, oh well suppose we are contrbuting to savng the environment with no car. (please don't start a debate on that one!)

Re: Daytrips

day trips, oh how i love them, you wanna try going for a day out in London or Newcastle, we love doing that, there is loads to do in York, the national rail museum, York castle museum, Jorvic center is a bit crap but we can't have it all now can we , a day out in Blackpool can be done on the cheap if you go to the right places, St Annes, Fleetwood, as cashy says, Liverpool is great, they have loads of museums and different things to see, a ride on the ferry is a must if you go there

some of the local parks in Blackburn and Accrington are nice too, take a look on your own doorstep, you might be surprised at what you find, if you are going anywhere by bus i would recommend buying an all day ticket on the transdev buses, £3.50 for adults and £1.75 for kids, they are well worth it if you are going to several places in the same day

public transport really isn't that bad, give it a go

Re: Daytrips

we found a cracking park in bolton of all places - its called Moss Bank Park and it has a huge outdoor sandpit (bring your own bucket and spade), it also has a couple of swingparks - the bigger of the two is situated in the fenced off area which has alot of picnic tables and that sandpit in it so your litle one can run about safely and play whilst you sit and watch/eat or like me play too!
it also has an on site fun fair which is a £1 a time or £5 for an all day wristband and at the top of the park there is an animal farm thing with quite a good selection of animals and birds to look at..and its got a pretty good miniture railway that has quite a big track and I am sure its only 50p a time..all in all if its a good day weather wise its a cracking day out, easily get the bus there and it wont be an expensive day out...our little one loves it there and often has a tantrum when its time to go home..
it is officially our picnic park..
google it for more details..
