Farm buildings in East Lancs

On Tuesday 4th Feb (7.30pm) in the library, local chap Les Hardie will be giving a talk to the Family History Society about farm buildings in East Lancashire. He may be commenting on some of the local ones which have been mentioned on here in the past few weeks. I expect that non-members will be able to attend on payment of a fee, as this is OK at meetings of the Local History Society.

On Saturday 22nd Feb, (9.30am-4pm) there will be Spring day school held in Haslingden Cricket Club by the Lancasshir5e Local History federation. It will involve 4 speakers talking about vernacular buildings in the North West, weavers' cotttages, Lancashire halls and mansions. £12 with a lunch or £8 without. PM me your email address for a booking form.

Change of plan : The speaker has been changed to one talking about the state of war memorials in Lancashire. I know the speaker - a top on.
