Awww that's a shame......I wonder if all that fuss in the paper last year put them off doing it again.

I couldn't comment as I wasn't there but someone wrote to the Observer last year suggesting that it was less than well organized and a firework hit her child's buggy wheel.

Plenty of people wrote back to state the opposite but maybe they just don't want the hassle again.

To be quite honest if I want to watch a fireworks display, all I do is open the kitchen curtains, pull up a stool, open a nice bottle of wine, close the kitchen door, and just look down Merlin Drive, its very spectacular, on both November the fifth and New Years Eve,sorted

Was great when we lived up on Warwick close, top of Church, for the millennium fireworks. Could see the whole town... spectacular! all from my living room window, lol

I have had a good view of fireworks until this year - the trees around my place still have lots of leaves this year which block my view - it must be global warming that is upsetting the seasons.
