They charge this small fee to make supportive income .. which is OK; have to get the revenue from somewhere in order to reduce the fees to the stall holders for exhibiting, otherwise, could be a no-go for most exhibitors, and total failure of this type of event. Just financial juggling.

I think for exhibitors in any show....that is the most sensible answer I have read. These events cost money to stage and promote...if people were queuing to go to the event they must have thought it was worth it?

I thought it was excellent and I ended up buying all sorts of things that you wouldn't normally see. Just enjoying a snifter of Sheep Dip whisky, along with a few slices of chilli cheese...but I'm saving the Huntsman's Pie until tomorrow!

Hey, I took a look at the queue at 11 o'clock and then again at noon, it was huge.
I am more than happy to pay my quid, just hope I can get in tomorrow !

Re: Lancashire Food Festival

Well I've just been down and it's very busy. Got to say, well done to Kerry and the entertainments team at Accrington - an excellent event.

I've just stuffed my face on the most delicious haggis and black pudding - rare treats but it just shows the difference when you buy quality products.

There were so many different delights, I could have stayed for hours sampling stuff but a certain someone needed to watch the grand prix.

If you're looking for something to do for the next couple of hours take a trip into town.

A couple of years ago I got some jam from the Food Festival. It was Strawberry & Black Pepper and it was fantastic I've never been able to find it again! (Stupid me didn't note down who's it was!) So will check out Reedy's! Would love to find it again.
