Re: Lily Mae's

We to Lilys the other weekend - a table of 4. One of the starters not available - not a biggy - but we were not advised of this until we tried to order it. Ordered food and we could smell one of the fish main courses being cooked before starters had arrived. Starters came and went; we had the peroni on draft it's okay not great. We ordered wine - which we would advise be taken off the menu altogether. If you aren't sure which one Lily Maes we did write on the bottle (among other comments). Some of the wine glasses smelt of the cleaning products you use to clean them and I do think just the smell of it tainted the wine - please rinse the glasses! Main course arrived, fish must have been kept warm as the top was tough - tasted really nice but the top was tough. The veg came out mostly cold and there were only two other tables in. By the time of desserts we were laughing so much (because of everything going on) we struggled to order - bread and butter pud was off the dessert list. Poor waitress must have thought we were loons - but from the look of her all night she just didn't want to be there which isn't a good impression to give. All in all, a big improvement on the choice we hadn't been back since xmas, but we won't be going back. Sorry Lily Maes by your own standards you let yourselves down.

Hi there Julie.Sam here, (Ians better half).I would just like to say thanks for the feedback.I was actually working on Sunday and it was a pleasure to serve you.Youre daughter was lovely and I found it amusing that she was trying to eat all your food as well as her own. Nothing wrong with having a healthy appetite!

Thanks for your comments. I was actually working that night and remember you well. You should have been informed about the starter that you wanted was off the menu-I apologise but the waitress forgot. As for the veg - it was me who served that to you and the second before that the chef added a knob of butter on the top and it melted instantly-so what can I say. However I did ask if I could get you some fresh veg you said no.The glasses are washed in a glass washing machine and I drink from those glasses everyday and they seem fine to me so maybe it was the wine you didn't like. You are also the first customer to not LOVE the peroni.it goes down a treat with all of our customers.Lastly, the fish that you could smell was my tea that the chef very kindly cooked for me and my hubby-it was a beautiful salmon served with parsley sauce and you probably saw me walking out with it.It was delicious. Thanks again for sharing your views.Sam.

Re: Lily Mae's

I'm going to re start this thread, by saying I've been a few times recently and its been very tasty, good to see an establishment family friendly, they have a microwave set up so you can warm food and bottles, the extention is a welcome improvement as I used to want to go in but it looked so full it put you off but now there is plenty of tables, my one and only suggestion was to.invest in some IKEA highchairs, the wood ones are useless, baby just slides about all the way through the meal, end up having shift her about 50 times, but the food is really good, and will try the carvery very soon! The changes are amazing its a credit to accrington, since we don't really have any decent coffee houses!

Just for the record....Imposta is situated on Abbey Street, directly opposite the GPO....and it is well worth a visit!
